Setting up up an mail account in Microsoft Outlook or Windows Live Mail is anything but easy, besides having to enter SMTP, POP, and other data turns this activity into a real ordeal for some people.
Thank goodness there is Outlook AutoConfig, a small application that can automate the process of setting up an email account. We only have to enter our e-mail and the program will do the rest. Then we have to go to our e-mail client and login with our password.
Outlook AutoConfig connects to its own database to obtain the data required to configure your mail account, which from experience also means that sometimes we can’t set up our own because we don’t have information for all the e-mail services around the world. However, we can send an email to developers with information on the service that we are interested in, so they will introduce it in the database.
It is definitely a very useful tool, it may not have data for all the e-mail services in the world, but it has data of the best known services. It is also portable so we can take it anywhere with confidence.
